Aug. 7th, 2006 12:00 pmI am bookwhore. This is widely acknowledged by both myself and my friends.
I can't go into Powell's (usually) without buying something.
Yesterday, my new pal, Jenny, and I went to Barns & Noble at Lloyd Center to poke around a bit. Jenny had already gone over her spending limit and bought three books at Powell's, but I hadn't gotten anything yet. I wasn't planning to get anything, but I wanted to look for a book that I hadn't been able to find in a store yet -- the library had it, but no book store in Oregon it seemed.
I checked the fiction section, where it should have been, and it wasn't there. A little dejected, I wandered over to the graphic novel section, but Jenny went up to the counter and asked about it for me (although she had to call me over to ask about the title) and it turns our that they DID have it, but the reason we couldn't find it was that is was in the *sale* section. So instead of the hardback being $25, I bought it for $5.
So I now own the Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie.
Yay for fangirl obsessiveness! :D
