The purpose of this zine is to inform about and raise awareness of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which is a systemic endocrine and metabolic disorder and one of the leading causes of infertility in women.


Neon Heart #1 includes:
- basic information about PCOS
- my personal history with the condition
- dealing with depression and body image issues, both of which are very common for PCOS patients
- some positivity exercises
- resources for further information on PCOS

Well, it sort of was. This was supposed to be my final project for my summer term class - the last day for turning it in for credit was Sep. 13. I was working on it for most of that month, but then I didn't feel up to working on it for about 2 months. It's nice to have it done, though.

Half-legal means is the size of legal paper folded in half, so 8.5x7". :)

I really need to learn how to make zines. I've always wanted to do one.

It's not that difficult. I just wrote all my stuff out, gathered a bunch of stuff to use in layout (clipart, backgrounds, etc.), then started putting the pieces together with scissors and a glue stick.
