Copypasta from Facebook:
A glimpse of zines to come.
I've had a couple of ideas rolling around in my head and strangely, they all revolve around FOOD. (Hmm, I possibly think with my stomach?)
1. A zine of recipes that mean something to me. Many of these will be family recipes, but also recipes that remind me a particular person or incident. Each recipe will be paired with a written piece about its significance. This zine is Virginia's fault.
2. More recently, I made a post saying how I've wished "the Anarchist Cookbook" was a real *cookbook*, like for food. Mel suggested doing a cookbook of my own, so this one is her fault. The Feminist Killjoy Cookbook will be both political and desperately tongue-in-cheek (you know, since I want it to have recipes like Anarchy Ice Cream, Fuck the Pigs Sloppy Joes, Menstrual Minestrone, Risotto of the Revolution, and Smash Po-State-oes). I'll solicit for help with this one at some point...or just bug me about it.
3. My summer project is an unofficial version of "Operation AHAP (As Happy/Healthy As Possible)". From June 1 through August 31, I'll be undertaking a project to figure out how to be as healthy and happy as possible (and what that even means), namely in form of changing my diet and exercise habits to be more in line with the recommended treatment of PCOS and in making art a much higher priority in my life. I'm not really sure how this will turn out, but I'll be documenting things as I go through the 12 weeks and at the end I'll make a zine about it. :)
So at some point, hopefully in 2012, I'll have made some more zines.
(I also really need to get one of the Feminist Killjoy t-shirts. ♥)
Also, I got an email that Planned Parenthood was finally hiring some non-bilingual call centers flunkies, so I applied for that.
